Platform differences between MT4 and MT5:
- There are various trading systems available for trading.
- If an MT4 account type is opened, the MT4 platform will be used.
- If an MT5 account type is opened, the MT5 platform will be used.
- The operating hours of the trading program are different. It depends on each liquidity service provider. So trading is based on the price on the chosen platform only.
- On the MT5 platform, it appears more contemporary and features a percentage spread that indicates the percentage of the market that is rising or falling at the moment, similar to the stock market, which the trading application will display.
- The MT5 platform can choose 21 TFs (default and custom), while the MT4 platform has 9 TFs (default only).
- The MT4 platform can set 6 types of pending orders:
| Buy Stop | Sell Stop |
| Buy Limit | Sell Limit |
| Take Profit | Stop Loss |
There are two additional categories of pending orders available on the MT5 platform:
| Buy Stop | Sell Stop |
| Buy Limit | Sell Limit |
| Take Profit | Stop Loss |
| Buy stop limit | Sell stop limit |
However, the choice ultimately depends on the user’s convenience, trading preferences, and specific requirements, such as the desired features, analytical tools, and overall trading experience they are looking for in a platform.
